The Republican Party in Texas has put it in their party platform that the practice of critical thinking is no longer allowed because to teach children something that may end up challenging their immediate authorities is worse than children being brought up without the essential ability to critically think for themselves.
Tuesday night’s ‘Word’ segment on The Colbert Report was hilarious to behold. After the Texas Republicans adopted its new education plank in their platform opposing critical thinking skills in school, Colbert thoroughly embarrassed them for it.
Colbert observed that President Obama currently has a commanding lead among youth 43% to 26%. And pointed out that 63% of those born after 1981 support same-sex marriage. “We conservatives are losing control of the youth, because the younglings don’t share our fundamental values… Thankfully, someone has finally found a way to bring our kids back into the conservative fold.” Read more:Texas GOP Outlaws Critical Thinking
