The new weapon for battling Zika. PDF Print E-mail
Written by Demo Herodotus

As the threat of a Zika outbreak looms overhead, scientist have developed a new weapon in the fight. At the opposite end of spectrum from traditional abatement techniques like spraying, a bold and possibly dangerous move is the introduction of genetically mutated mosquito's. The release hinges on a congressional decision to give the green light to British biotech company Oxitec to introduce the mutant mosquito's into the environment in the Miami area. Oxitec Chief Executive Hadyn Parry as quoted in an article on, said "The engineered kill switch gene that is passed down to the next generation stops them from maturing." Current lab results show a 80%-90% mortality rate far surpassing the 20%-30% rate conventional methods achieve. A lab and research facility has already been built in the Florida keys and is currently producing the enhanced soldiers to go to war against Zika.

Fetal Deaths Reported to VAERS After Flu Shot Given to Pregnant Women PDF Print E-mail

[Editor Note: You may have seen reports earlier this year claiming that vaccinations for pregnant women were completely safe. Those reports came from Norway. If you look at the video and article below, you will see opposite reports pulled from US government and large medical group data. -HC]

Craving customers like vampires drawn to blood, the Manchurian medication junkies seek to create a constant stream of new patients in order to expand their disease-based fear of influence. In this instance, the annual flu shot is being used to facilitate that steady flow of sick people needed to keep the pharmacratical dictatorship marching forward. The veil of delusion that has been firmly draped over the face of the medicated masses has slipped slightly out of place long enough to cast some light on the deceptions being propagated against our youth.

Recent studies indicate that an increase in the fetal death rates of pregnant women has gone up 4,250% in the last two years. These results come from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) which is a national vaccine safety surveillance program co-sponsored by the Centers for Disease Creation and Proliferation (CDC) and the Fear and Death Administration (FDA). A study published in the National Library of Medicine stated that there is a substantial connection between the H1N1 vaccination and the increase in fetal deaths. Fetal death was defined as any recorded miscarriage or stillbirth after the first trimester.

Genetic Roulette: Health Risks of Genetically Engineered Foods PDF Print E-mail
Written by Health Watch

"Genetic Roulette is a powerful, compelling indictment of the biotechnology industry’s genetically engineered food experiment that is being foisted on the American public. The film shows in disturbing detail the many health hazards of this potentially dangerous technology. Adding to the film’s power and hopeful message are the many testimonials from health professionals and individuals who describe the benefits of eating a non-GMO diet. All Americans who are concerned about the foods they eat should see this film." These are the words of Ken Roseboro, editor and publisher of The Organic & Non-GMO Report and The Non-GMO Sourcebook, and author of Genetically Altered Foods and Your Health.

How Can the Wealthiest Industrialized Nation be the Sickest?

Americans get sick more often than Europeans or people from any other industrialized nation. Since the mid-1990s, the number of Americans suffering from at least three chronic illnesses nearly doubled. Life expectancy has decreased and infant mortality has increased. Illnesses once rare are now common, with some approaching epidemic levels. For example:

  • Autism now affects one in 88 children (CDC), compared to one in 25,000 in the mid-1970s
  • Type 2 diabetes rates in the U.S. increased by 176 percent between 1980 and 2010
  • Celiac disease is four times more common now than 60 years ago
  • Alzheimer's disease is rising at alarming rates. It's estimated that 5.4 million Americans (one in eight older Americans) now has Alzheimer's disease, and nearly half of those age 85 and older have it; AD rates have doubled since 1980
  • New infectious diseases are increasing in number, according to a 2008 study.

In the following documentary, Jeffrey Smith makes a convincing argument that one of the primary forces driving these illnesses is America's changing food supply. And one of the most profound changes is genetically engineered food. Proving GE food is causing Americans to be sick is a tall order, but the evidence presented in this film is very compelling and should not be ignored.

What you need to know about Biotech Rider 733 PDF Print E-mail

Monsanto could get everything it wants for Christmas, unless we convince legislators this week to strip both the 2013 Agriculture Appropriations Bill (H.R. 5973) and the Farm Bill of dangerous riders that would give the biotech industry unprecedented power and immunity from not only an already-weakened review process, but also from federal law.

With the elections behind us, Congress has returned to Washington, D.C. to get back to work on a number of pressing issues, including an omnibus 2013 Appropriations Bill. Unfortunately, still on the table is a dangerous biotech policy rider. In response, Representative Peter DeFazio (D- Oregon, 4th) has authored a “Dear Colleague” letter opposing

Though wrapped in a “farmer-friendly” package, this biotech rider (section 733) is simply an industry ploy to continue to plant GE crops even when a court of law has found they were approved illegally.

The provision is intended to force USDA to grant temporary permits and deregulations of GE crops even if a Federal court rules that USDA hadn’t adequately considered the environmental or economic risks to farmers. This would negate any meaningful judicial review of USDA’s decisions to allow commercialization of GE crops. If a GE crop approval was shown to violate the law and require further analysis of its harmful impacts (as several courts have concluded in recent years; GE alfalfa and GE sugar beets, for example) this provision would override any court-mandated caution and allow continued planting and commercialization while further review takes place. Further, it forces USDA to approve permits for such continued planting immediately, putting industry completely in charge by creating loophole approvals tailored to counter any “inconvenient” court decisions for the industry.

There is only a short period of time for Congress to resolve the Appropriations Bill before the end of the lame duck session. Please tell your Representative to support the DeFazio Dear Colleague letter opposing the biotech rider and urge Senate Appropriations Chairman Inouye to oppose the rider!

Fukushima disaster cleanup: Technology Doesn't Yet Exist PDF Print E-mail

One and a half years later, the consensus seems to be that the site of the Fukushima nuclear accident cannot be cleaned up or contained until future generations invent the technology to do so, Washington’s Blog notes:

World-renowned physicist Michio Kaku said recently: “It will take years to invent a new generation of robots able to withstand the radiation.” The world leader in decommissioning nuclear reactors, and one of the main contractors hired to clean up Fukushima – EnergySolutions – made a similar point in May:

Concerning the extraction of fuel debris [at Fukushima], “There is no technology which may be directly applied,” said [top EnergySolutions executive] Morant.

A top American government nuclear expert – William D. Magwood – told the U.S. Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works:

There will need to be new technologies and new methodologies created to be able to enable them to clean the site up and some of these technologies don’t exist yet, so there’s a long way to go with that…There’s a long, long way to go.

(Magwood is a Commissioner for the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, former 7-year Director of Nuclear Energy with the U.S. Department of Energy , where he was the senior nuclear technology official in the U. S. government and the senior nuclear technology policy adviser to the Secretary of Energy, and the longest-serving head of the United States' civilian nuclear technology program, serving two Presidents and five Secretaries of Energy from 1998 until 2005.)

Dangerous Levels of Fukushima Radiation reaching for the West Coast PDF Print E-mail
Written by Eco World

It’s been over a year since natural disaster ravaged a nuclear plant in Fukushima and interrupted the lives of millions of Japanese.

Scientists now fear though that contaminated water is on course to America, and it could be more toxic than thought.

Researchers have released the findings of an intense study into the aftermath of last year’s Fukushima nuclear disaster and warn that the United States isn’t exactly spared just yet.

In fact, scientists now fear that incredibly contaminated ocean waters could be reaching the West Coast of the US in a matter of only five years, and the toxicity of those waves could eventually be worse than what was seen in Japan.

A team of scientists led by Joke F Lübbecke of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s (NOAA) Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory have published the findings of an experiment recently conducted to measure the impact of last year’s nuclear disaster and the results are eye-opening to say the least.

By simulating the spreading of contaminated ocean waters and seeing how currents could carry them across the Pacific from Japan to the US, scientists believe that the worst might be still on the way.

The US Navy is anticipating increasing the use of underwater high frequency sonar which could have harming or even deadly consequences for thousands of whales and dolphins.

According to the U.S. Navy's own estimates, the Draft Environmental Impact Statement (EIS) for 2014-2018 is suggesting that sonar training and testing could harm marine mammals 2.8 million times a year over five years, including deafening 15,900 whales and dolphins and killing 1,800 more over the next five years, in testing in Hawaii, off the California and Atlantic Coasts, and in the Gulf of Mexico.

Report: White House Advocates GMO Toxins While Preaching Healthy School Lunch

Recently, President Obama has allowed Michael Taylor, the Deputy Commissioner for Foods Safety at the US FDA, and Tom Vilsack, Secretary of Agriculture, to support the statement that GMOs are safe, and to organize a White House event with the purpose to “inform" and "educate" parents about healthy school lunches for children.

Monsanto Wins in Congress over GMO battle PDF Print E-mail

Congress sides with Monsanto over GMO battle

The Senate just voted AGAINST Senator Sanders' amendment to allow GMO labeling - 26 for, 73 against.

Biotech giant Monsanto was also awarded a victory by lawmakers in Washington early this week after a congressional panel voted to let farmers plant GM crops made by the agriculture company despite pending legal proceedings.

A US House of Representatives committee sided with Monsanto Corporation and other biotech companies, including competitors Dupont Co., and supported the use, production of GMO on American farmlands. The ruling comes irrespectively of legal challenges that have hindered full-fledged approval of some GMOs.

The USDA would be required to permit modified crops to be planted and sold into the food supply after the agency’s approvals have been invalidated by a court, under a provision in the fiscal 2013 agriculture spending bill approved by the House Appropriations committee on June 20th, 2012.

One of the provisions in the Bill would allow companies like Monsanto to circumvent legal obstacles that have impaired the large commercialization of engineered crops, benefiting the world’s largest seed company. Planting would be permitted until USDA completes any analysis required by a judge.
